People • Patients • Planet • Practice is a growing series of conversation starters designed to explore sustainability through a wider veterinary lens.
Rather than focusing solely on environmental impact, this series encourages us to consider how people, patients, the planet and the practice are all interconnected. Through practical examples, reflective questions and real-world experiences, we’ll explore how small, meaningful changes can improve patient care, strengthen teams and build practices that are sustainable for the future.
Drawing on over 20 years of veterinary nursing experience, my aim isn’t to provide all the answers. It’s to create a space where veterinary professionals can think differently, share ideas and learn from one another.
Whether your interests lie in anaesthesia, sustainability, leadership, quality improvement, workflow or creating a more sustainable career, you’re welcome.
This is just the beginning.
Let’s keep asking better questions – together.
In this section, we'll look at a conversation starter exploring a broader view of sustainability within veterinary practice.
This conversation starter is the first in a growing People • Patients • Planet • Practice series.
It's designed to encourage reflection rather than provide all the answers, using practical examples to explore how small, meaningful changes can benefit people, patients, the planet and the practice.
I hope it prompts new questions, starts new conversations and helps build a community where veterinary professionals can learn from one another.
Sustainabilityisn't one big decision, it's the sum of hundreds of small decisions made every day.
